Family Values Tour

For those wondering who’s going to take the stage at this year’s Family Values Tour, here’s your answer – Korn and Evanescense. Those two will be sharing the “headliner” title while bands like Flyleaf, Atreyu, Hellyeah and Trivium will take the stage as well so there’s a lot of variety to cater to all metal fans. The tour officially starts in Missouri on July 20th and ends in California on September 2nd.

Oh yeah, Korn’s drummer position will be filled up by Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison for this tour and some European festivals too. If you’re living under a rock, David Silveria is on hiatus. Anyway, that would be five months that Joey’s going to be providing those sick beats! The band is also set to release a new album under Virgin Records in late July so watch out for that.

My thoughts with the headliners this year: interesting. I vaguely remember Evanescence’s Anywhere but Home tour where they did a cover of Korn’s Thoughtless. On Korn’s edition of Unplugged, they had Amy Lee do backing vocals on Freak on a Leash. I think it would be a cool thing to see if Evanscence does their cover again or if Korn would feature Amy Lee again. Maybe they could even do a switch – Korn covers Evanescence and Jonathan Davis does backing for Amy. It’s not impossible. If I really want to shoot for the stars, it would be a dream to see both full bands perform simultaneously on stage.

Anyway, for a full list of dates and venues for the tour, just google it. It’s not that hard to find. And for those that aren’t living in American soil, fly over. I can guarantee that any single date on that tour is worth watching.
